Protection against dismissal varies considerably across jurisdictions in relation to who is protected, the reasons for protection and severance payments that apply. The Peru team discuss a decision involving the dismissal of a person of trust where there is no entitlement to compensation. Portugal refer to a recent case involving the return of compensation for dismissal, and Belgium highlight new rules protecting employees from dismissal where they are undergoing infertility treatment.
